How to Prepare

🪥 Brush Your Teeth
Brush thoroughly before your appointment (not just surface level). It’s helpful for Dr. Reno to see your natural brushing results, but clean teeth make the exam easier.

🚫 Avoid Food & Drink
Avoid eating for 30 minutes before your appointment. Water is fine. A light breakfast is okay—just nothing sticky or sugary immediately before.

😌 Relax & Arrive Early
Arriving 5-10 minutes early reduces stress and gives time to settle in. Our office is welcoming and calm. If you have dental anxiety, let us know—we can help.

📝 Write Questions Down
Bring a list of questions or concerns. Dr. Reno wants to address everything. Don’t hesitate to ask—no question is too small.

💡 Patient Tips for Success

• Be Honest: Tell us about past dental experiences, anxiety, or specific concerns. The more we know, the better we can help.

• Ask About Insurance: We maximize your benefits. Ask us to explain what your insurance covers for the recommended treatment.

• Discuss Payment Plans: If cost is a concern, ask about financing options. We have flexible plans to fit most budgets.

• Schedule Recall Early: Before leaving, book your 6-month recall (or 3-month if gum disease detected). Preventive care is the trusted investment.

• Follow Post-Visit Instructions: If any treatment is done, follow Dr. Reno’s care instructions for fastest healing.

Frequently Asked Questions

❓ Will my first visit hurt?
No. The exam and cleaning are completely comfort-focused. If we identify cavities or other issues, treatment can be scheduled separately. You control the pace.

❓ How long does the first visit take?
Plan for 45-60 minutes total. This includes check-in, exam, X-rays, and consultation. It’s thorough but efficient.

❓ What should I wear?
Wear whatever is comfortable. We provide a bib to protect your clothes. No special dress code—come as you are.

❓ Can I bring family or a friend?
Absolutely! Bring a spouse, parent, or support person. Children can accompany you if needed. We welcome families.

❓ I have dental anxiety. Can you help?
Yes. Tell us during check-in. Dr. Reno has helped many anxious patients feel comfortable. We go slowly, explain everything, and can discuss sedation options if needed.

❓ What if I haven’t been to a dentist in years?
Don’t worry. We see patients with gaps in care regularly. There’s no judgment—only a plan to get your oral health back on track.

❓ Will I be recommended expensive treatment I don’t need?
No. Dr. Reno recommends evidence-based treatment only. We discuss options, costs, and timelines so you can make informed decisions.

❓ Do you accept my insurance?
We accept most major plans including United Healthcare, Aetna, Delta Dental, Cigna, Guardian, MetLife, and Humana. Verify coverage by bringing your card to check-in.
